Maximum freedom fighters of the same town honoured in a posthumous honour ceremony
The record for honouring the maximum number of freedom fighters of the same town in a posthumous honour ceremony was set by Hitesh Hiramanaji Dhore (born on September 27, 1980) of Shendurjanaghat, Maharashtra, along with four other organisations. To celebrate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, they conducted a posthumous honour ceremony on March 12, 2023 and honoured 45 freedom fighters of Shendurjanaghat town (who were martyred) with floral wreaths, badges and letters of honour presented to the relatives of 32 freedom fighters, as confirmed on May 23, 2023.
