Youngest to develop innovative safety helmet for miners
The record for being the youngest to develop innovative Safety Helmet for Miners was set by Vikaash Kumar Selvakumar Mythili (born on April 19, 2007) of Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. He developed a composite safety helmet measuring 54 cm x 55 cm head circumference for miners using luffa fibre and glass fibre using compression moulding technique. The helmet is light weight and incorporated with various smart sensors which detects hazardous events and secures the life of miners in mining industries, as confirmed on March 30, 2024.
