K. S. Sudheer of Kerala created a side stand gear lock system, which is designed in such a manner that a rider is unable to operate gear of the bike unless he pushes the side stand upwards. This product consists of only two parts; one washer and a mild steel rod. Both are welded together. The rod has specific angles; one is at 90 degree angle and the other is at the ‘angle of inclination’ of the bike. The product is a simple mechanical device, which is tightened with the side stand, comes in the way of the gear, and restricts its operation. Hence, the rider is not able to operate the gear and move the bike even a single foot. It is built in such a way that it perfectly comes underneath the gear lever of bike and completely restricts the downward movement of gear lever. This product was introduced in the market in the year 2006.
