The record for being the ‘Youngest to Swim Across the Palk Strait’ was set by Ishank Singh (July 31, 2018) of Ranchi, Jharkhand. On April 30, 2026, he started the expedition at 4:00 am from the shores of Talaimannar, Sri Lanka, and reached the Indian shore at Dhanushkodi, Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, at 1:50 pm. He completed the expedition in 9 hours and 50 minutes at the age of 7 years, 8 months, and 30 days, as confirmed on May 6, 2026.
