Youngest to swim 50 metres freestyle in a swimming pool
The record for being the youngest to swim 50 metres freestyle in a swimming pool was set by Athiran Geethanandh (born on September 9, 2022) of Salem, Tamil Nadu. He swam 50 metres (full length) across an Olympic-sized swimming pool at SDAT Aquatic Complex (Velachery) in 5 minutes and 45 seconds on May 29, 2025 (under the guidance of his swimming coach K.Loganathan), unaided and without the use of flotation devices, at the age of 2 years, 8 months and 20 days, as confirmed on June 12, 2025.
