India has never been short of extraordinary people. But there is something uniquely electric about a moment when a well-known face, like an actor, an author, a musician, steps into the spotlight, not to entertain, but to achieve. The India Book of Records has documented thousands of record-breaking feats across the country, and some of the most memorable records are either set by known faces or associated with them.
These are not just records. They are milestones wrapped in stories, and every story deserves to be told. Here are five remarkable celebrity-connected records that found their rightful place in the India Book of Records.
Ajay Devgn: The first Bollywood Actor to Step into the 3D Animation World
Long before superhero crossover became a global trend, Bollywood’s own action hero was already blurring the lines between live action and animation. Ajay Devgn made history as the first Indian actor to star in India’s first live-action 3D animated film, Toonpur Ka Superhero, released on December 24, 2010.

The movie was directed by Kireet Khurana, produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, and written by Raagi Bhatnagar. In this 105-minute-long movie, Devgn’s on-screen persona is transported into the world of cartoons, where he is forced by circumstances to become a real-life hero. It was a first-of-its-kind cinema, and the India Book of Records was there to say so officially.
A Book Launch That Became a Movement
What does it take to make a book launch truly special? Apparently, 5,500 students, 61 schools, an entire state, and a story worth telling. Author Shantanu Gupta achieved exactly that when he simultaneously launched his graphic novel Ajay to Yogi Adityanath across multiple locations in Uttar Pradesh on June 5, 2023- the 51st birthday of the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The book chronicles the journey of Ajay Singh Bisht, a young boy from rural Uttarakhand who rose through sheer determination to lead India’s most populous state.

The simultaneous launch, graced by the Chief Minister himself, set the record for maximum participation for school students in a single book launch. An adjudicator from the India Book of Records was also present to certify the moment as it unfolded, issuing a certificate on the spot. The book also topped Amazon’s bestseller charts. That’s what happens when inspiration finds the right audience.
The Child Star Bollywood Could Not Forget
Before Hritik Roshan made his debut, before Indian child actors became an Instagram genre, there was Master Ravi, a four-year-old boy from Mumbai who walked into a film set and never looked back. Ravi Valecha, known across Bollywood as Master Ravi, went on to act in over 300 films as a child artist, more than any other child performer in Indian film history, setting the record for acting in the most films by a child actor in India.

Beginning with Fakira in 1976, he appeared in dozens of iconic films, including Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Coolie, Shakti, Mr. Natwarlal, and Yaadon ki Baarat, often playing the younger version of Amitabh Bachchan. He also holds the record for acting as a child artist in the most Indian languages over a 15-year career (1974-1989). Ravi Valecha was honoured as one of the Top 100 Record Holders of 2022 at the 5th World Record Holders Meet organised by IBR at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi. The audience gave him a standing ovation. It was, by all accounts, long overdue.
Seven Bollywood legends in one Devotional Album
Music has always been India’s most direct way to connect to the divine. But composer Mohd Ayaz (Paigambar) Abdul Shaikh of Solapur, Maharashtra, took that connection and made it a record. He composed the album Shree Siddharameshwar Bhakti Geet, a collection of devotional songs performed by seven of Bollywood’s most celebrated playback singers: Usha Mangeshkar, Anup Jalota, Anuradha Paudwal, Suresh Wadkar, Sadhana Sargam, Ram Shankar and Varsha Usgaonkar.

This devotional album brought together these infamous singers to set the record for the maximum number of Bollywood singers collaborating in a single devotional album. The India Book of Records officially confirmed this feat on May 24, 2021. This congregation of voices came together to create something timeless, quite beautifully representing the vision of IBR through this record.
A 10-year-old Champion Applauded By a Chief Minister
Sometimes the most fantastic records come in the smallest packages. M.R. Navajith, a 10-year-old from Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, wrote the names of all 38 districts of Tamil Nadu in Tamil reverse writing, in just 7 minutes, 7 seconds and 4 milliseconds. The India Book of Records officially confirmed the feat on December 20, 2021. What makes this record particularly special is the recognition it received. The former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, personally applauded this young achiever and presented him with his Record Holder certificate.

When a child’s pen earns the attention of a personality as big as the CM of a state, then such an achievement goes far beyond a record. It gives out a clear message that talent in India grows in every corner, at every age, and that the India Book of Records is there to ensure it doesn’t go unnoticed.
Records are Stories. And Every Story Deserves Its Place
What binds these five records together is not fame or celebrity. It is the relentless pursuit of something that has never been done before. The India Book of Records has been the trusted guardian of such pursuits for decades, offering every record holder in India the recognition they deserve. Whether it is a four-year-old stepping in front of a camera for the first time or a composer gathering Bollywood legends for a single album, the India Book of Records is where your story finds its official home.
