Adding one more jewel to the crown of records, India Book of Records awarded certificates with respect to creation of record for Highest Quantity of Bituminous Mix laid for road construction in 100 Hrs to a domestic infrastructure company. Yet another record was made for constructing the Longest Length of Bituminous Road in the same time frame. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari in his tweets expressed happiness over these two records.

The two incredible feats were achieved by PNC Infratech Ltd of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, at the Construction of 8-Lane access-controlled expressway starting from junction with NH-47 near Bhamiya village and ending at junction with SH-175 in Baletiya village in Panchmahal district section of Delhi-Vadodara Greenfield Alignment (NH-148N) under Bharatmala Pariyojna in the state of Gujarat. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had awarded the work of construction of 8-lane expressway to PNC Infratech. Work of laying 40,000 MT of DBM started at 8:30 am on March 8, 2022 and ended at 12:30 pm on March 12, 2022.

Major machinery and manpower resources were deployed for achieving the target. The machines included Paver fitted with Multiplex (2), Mobile Feeders for contactless feeding of Bituminous Mix (1), Tandem Rollers (5), Bitumen Bowser (2), Water tankers (2), Hot mix plant (2), and Tippers (60). Besides this, 12 managers, 20 engineers, 30 supervisors, 160 drivers, 120 labourers and 20 safety personnel were deputed to complete the task in the stipulated time.

PNC Infratech is engaged in infrastructure development through the construction of highways including BOT (build, operate and transfer) projects, airport runways, bridges, flyovers and power transmission projects among others. PNC Infratech was awarded the construction of 8-Lane Access Controlled Delhi Vadodara Greenfield Expressway on August 5, 2020 and the appointed date was given on April 17, 2021.

Keeping in view the availability of a continuous stretch of 5.25 km, PNC Management decided to make a record of laying of 40,000 MT of DBM in approx. 100 hrs of continuous working in above 5.25 km stretch. The journey was not easy but equally determined was the team PNC and the ground staff who had been working day in day out and making it look simple.

Anil Rao, Director of the company, received the IBR certificate and medal from the official Adjudicator of India Book of Records, MK Chaudhary, just after the completion of the activity. Project Director Zafar Sultani, Team Leader Madhusudan Sahay, SVP SC Mittal and SPM Anil Seth were also present on the occasion. Project Director, Zafar Sultani said that credit for this achievement goes to the vision of top management of PNC Infratech Ltd; dream of Government of India which has been promoting the infrastructure growth and development of the nation; and the unflinching determination of the site execution staff.
