The coveted movement of Delhi Police against Drug Abuse

On July 16, 2023, Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, Director Asia and India Book of Records along with Retd. IAS Mr. Praveen Kumar met Commissioner of Police of Delhi, Shri Sanjay Arora for the felicitation of Delhi Police’s awe-inspiring achievement being recognised by the India Book of Records.

Delhi Police, under the esteemed leadership of Commissioner Shri. Sanjay Arora, achieved an exceptional milestone by setting an India Book of Record for the maximum number of people participating in a hybrid drug awareness pledge. The event took place in the presence of the Honourable Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, adding to its significance. This remarkable feat witnessed the active participation of 3,39,073 individuals from various sections of society across India. From June 12, 2023, to June 26, 2023, these participants took the resolute pledge of “Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs” as part of the “Drug Free India Campaign.”

The initiative aligned with the Drug Free India Campaign, an endeavor championed by the Honourable Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi. The event was graced by the presence of eminent personalities such as Padma Shri Hans Raj Hans, MP, Delhi; Sri Ram Singh Bidhuri, MP, Delhi; Mr. Naresh Kumar, Chief Secretary of Delhi; Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture; Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Former Minister of Health and Family Welfare; the Honourable Lieutenant Governor of Delhi; Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena; boxing star Mary Kom; and the captain of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team, Ms. Rani Rampal, added immense value to the event. Mr. P. P. Mittal, an entrepreneur and passionate energy conservationist was present as an Adjudicator with Ms. Jaspreet Kaur from the India Book of Records Events team.

Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, President of WorldKings and Director of Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records, personally met Commissioner Shri Sanjay Arora to present him with a well-deserved felicitation on July 16, 2023. It was an event of high eminence which saw the presence of dignitaries from Police department, ACP Mr. Anil Sharma and Inspector Mr. Rakesh Duhan with the team which made this event possible. Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury was acompanied by Retd. IAS Mr. Praveen Kumar and Ms. Jaspreet Kaur from the India Book of Records Events Team. They congratulated the entire Delhi Police force for their notable contribution to the cause.
