Submariner turned to a commercial pilot
The record for being a submariner turning to a commercial pilot was set by Lt Cdr Vivek Chaudhary (Retd) (born on July 6, 1983) of Gurugram, Haryana. He got independent charge of submarines on June 28, 2011 and achieved Dolphin Badge. He also obtained a Commercial Pilot Licence on July 27, 2020 from Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on completing 205 hours of flying training, as confirmed on June 28, 2021.
