The record for being the skilled lac artist was set by Shadab Ahmed (born on February 15, 1978) of Jaipur, Rajasthan. He belongs to Lakhera community and it is his ancestral work. This ancient lac art belongs to Mahabharata times and is a symbol of Indian culture and tradition. He received many awards and honours including Asia’s Outstanding Achievement Award in 2020-21, Jaipur Paridhan-II in 2019 from the Government of India, as confirmed on March 1, 2021.
