The record for the Oldest School Sports Association was set by The Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA), Mumbai. Estd. in 1893 by Sir Dorabji Jamshedji Tata and sports-minded school principals, it was originally known as the Bombay High Schools Athletic Association. MSSA promotes sports across 465+ schools in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad, conducting competitions in over 20 disciplines, including football, cricket, athletics, badminton, basketball, hockey, tennis, chess, aquatics, volleyball and more, as confirmed on August 21, 2026.
