Maximum years a single family served as the Sarpanch of a Gram Panchayat

The record for serving as the Sarpanch of a Gram Panchayat for the maximum number of years was set by the Zanjurne family of Satara, Maharashtra. Three generations of a single family served as the Sarpanch of Tadwale Gram Panchayat for 53 years, namely late Sarjerao Dnyanu Zanjurne (39 years from April 18, 1952 to April 25, 1991), his son Shrimant Sarjerao Zanjurne (10 years from June 24, 1993 to June 23, 2003) and his granddaughter-in-law Monali Nilesh Zanjurne (4 years from June 24, 2018 to July 1, 2022), as confirmed on November 13, 2024.
