Maximum women taking pledge to enhance electoral participation
The record for maximum women taking pledge to enhance electoral participation was set by the Chief Electoral Office (CEO), Assam with the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission and Assam State Urban Livelihoods Mission. A total of 44.00 lacs women from Self Help Groups (SHGs) across the state of Assam participated in the initiative and took the pledge of the Election Commission of India to enhance the electoral participation not only in terms of numbers but also quality through the effective implementation of Systematic Voters’ Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP), a flagship programme of the Election Commission of India as confirmed on 10th April 2024.
