Maximum Sacred Trees of a Single Type Cultivated in a Forest Park
The record for cultivating the maximum number of sacred trees of a single type in a forest park was set by Dr. Vinod Kumar Jain of Sikar, Rajasthan. For half a decade, he has cultivated 1,000 sacred Peepal trees in an urban public forest park called ‘Smriti Van’ after sourcing the Peepal plants from Rajahmundry, Telangana. The Peepal tree is considered auspicious and sacred in Hindu culture and is also vital in maintaining ecological balance, providing shelter to animals, birds, and humans once fully grown, as confirmed on January 11, 2025.
