Maximum Handmade Gliders Flown Simultaneously by Students at a Venue
The record for the maximum number of handmade gliders flown simultaneously by students at a single venue was set by Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science & Technology, Vallam,Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. On February 7, 2026, a total of 1,932 students gathered and flew 966 gliders, from schools and polytechnics across Tamil Nadu. This initiative aimed to inspire young minds toward aerospace, drone technology, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning through a unique hands-on experience, as confirmed on February 7, 2026.
