The record for making the maximum number of handcrafted origami creatures from newspapers was set by Bertina Bennet Paul (born on August 7, 2008) of Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. She made 111 handcrafted origami creatures (a peacock, a dolphin, a rabbit, a moth and a fox, among others) from newspapers, using origami and kirigami techniques, at the age of 17 years, 11 months and 29 days, as confirmed on August 5, 2026.
