The record for inventing and redesigning the maximum number of devices for persons with visual disabilities was set by Dr. Milan Dass (born on January 10, 1952) of Hyderabad, Telangana. He invented and redesigned 28 devices for persons with visual disabilities, including Special Geometry Kit, Special Carrom Board, Table Tennis for the Disabled, Inter Line Braille Writing Slate and 24 others, during his service as Sr. Research Officer at National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD), Dehradun, from 1987 to 2012, and continued his research activity even after retirement, as confirmed on June 5, 2026.
