Longest Urdu poem in the form of a ghazal composed by an individual
The record for composing the longest Urdu poem in the form of a ghazal was set by Firoz Ahmad (born on April 30, 1962) of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. He composed the longest Urdu poem in the form of ghazal (an ode to love), comprising 2,110 verses and 4,220 lines. which was compiled into a self-published book titled ‘Seher-e-Saqi’ (ISBN: 978-93-56790-43-8), as confirmed on February 18, 2026.
