Popularly known as ‘Sairam Gandhi’, he started his padayatra (long walk), dressed as Mahatma Gandhi in white and silver, on June 26, 2016 from Puri (Odisha) and completed it at Porbandar (Gujarat) on October 2, 2016 in 3 months and 6 days, to promote Swachh Bharat Mission, as confirmed on June 7, 2025.
