Longest Okra fruit produced by mutation breeding

The record for producing the longest Okra fruit was set by Dr. G. Pushparajan (born on November 28, 1955) of Trivandrum, Kerala. He developed a fruit of Abelmoschus esculentus (Okra) measuring 22.3 inches by 400 Gy gamma irradiation in M3 generation as an outcome of their UGC Research Programme, as confirmed on June 7, 2021.
