The record for surgically removing the longest foreign body from the stomach of a female patient was set by Dr. Narinder Pal Singh (born on February 14, 1990) of Kapurthala, Punjab. The condition called trichobezoar starts from the stomach to the end of the small intestine. The surgery was performed on October 19, 2022 in Government Medical Hospital (Sector 32 Chandigarh) to remove the hair (measuring 73 inches), as confirmed on November 18, 2022.
