The record for performing static apnea for the longest duration was set by Yash Shekhar (born on January 10, 1982) of New Delhi. He performed static apnea, wherein he held his breath underwater for 4 minutes and 14 seconds in a stationary position in a swimming pool, as confirmed on February 21, 2025.
