Some stories cannot stay hidden forever.
They survive through the words of our elders, in the humming of our folk songs and in the folds of ancient manuscripts. Waiting patiently for the world to be ready, for the perfect moment to step out of the shadows and be illuminated as a twinkle in the eyes of a little girl with big dreams. Such stories surely take their time, but when they get the right medium, courage and platform, they leave the world mesmerised.
India Book Records production house’s first film- Vườn Tình Yêu ( Prem Ki Surdhara) is one such story, whose magic the world has just begun to witness. A movie that brings to the fore the ancient relationship India shares with Vietnam.
Rekindling the Thousand-Year Indo-Vietnam history
Even before the movie ‘Prem Ki Surdhara’ came into being, India and Vietnam were not strangers. Rather, both the nations were tied by the invisible threads of brotherhood, who have always shared a rich, archaic and unperturbed thousand-year history. The relationship was never limited to just diplomacy. Both these nations have, for centuries, breathed the same air of spirituality, shared love for artistic and cultural pursuits and revered nature. To strengthen and cement this sacred relationship, the Indo-Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Programme was brought into action.
The programme took off on February 19, 2025, with Dr Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, Chief Editor of the India Book of Records, penning a biography named ‘The Guardian of Heritage’. He wrote the biography on the torchbearer of Vietnam’s cultural heritage, Vietnam’s Folklore Culture Prof. Dr. Chu Bao Que, honorary doctor, professor, artist, and Chairman of the Policy and Development Consultative Council of the Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Associations. The professor was also appointed as the brand ambassador of the cultural heritage programme recently.
This programme was created to strengthen the cultural ties between both nations by nurturing them through art, music and literature. As a result of the warmth of this shared heritage, the idea of producing ‘Prem ki Surdhara’ was conceived.
Vườn Tình Yêu (Prem Ki Surdhara)
This film, starring Prof. Dr. Chu Bao Qu, Sanchita Kulkarni, Kishori Shahane among others, is a testament of what ‘never giving up’ looks like. Some stories make you believe that dreams do come true if you truly believe in them. Vườn Tình Yêu is also one such beautiful and inspiring story of a little girl from a tiny Indian hamlet. The girl who carried a lively twinkle and a million dreams in her eyes.
As the little one grows up in her small village, she leads a very ordinary life. Like all other girls of the village, she too gets married once she grows up. In her ordinary life, one thing which was truly extraordinary were her vivid dreams of a man, whom she had been seeing since her childhood days. She had never seen this man, and that intrigued her the most.
Were these dreams inconsequential or did they have a deeper meaning? Will these dreams perturb her monotonous life and bring about a massive change or would she succumb to the pressure of people around her and be forever trapped in her village? To find answers to that you have to watch the 1 hour and 50 minutes long movie.
Why is India Book Records stepping into the world of filmmaking?
In India, cinema plays a very crucial role. It is not just a medium of entertainment, but also a reflection of our society. It is a platform for bringing people, thoughts and ideas together and weaving a visually appealing story, which stays with you for days on, especially if the story tugs at your heart.
For the last 21 years, India Book of Records has recorded many inspiring stories in its record books. This time, it chose to step behind the camera and tell a story – an extraordinary feat that was never achieved by any other record documenting institution. Through ‘Prem Ki Surdhara’, India Book of Records wants to create an eternal bond of solidarity and shared culture between India and Vietnam.
Vườn Tình Yêu is an extremely human, deeply cross-cultural Indo-Vietnamese film which carries within it the soul of the Indo-Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Programme.
The film, also starring Professor Chu Bao Que, is a perfect amalgamative representation of the cultures of both the countries. Apart from the story which combines the elements for both the lives of people of both the nations, the movie sets a mind-blowing example of merging together the music of India and Vietnam. The Indian Bollywood music was blended with Quan Họ folk music of Vietnam to create a magical musical album for the movie.
Through this movie, India Book of Records has attempted to present both the cultures not as strangers or novelties, but as old friends, recognising each other across time.
This is the quiet miracle in this film, which also makes our stepping into the world of cinema not a debut, but more of a homecoming.
When Haryana stood up to applaud IBR
Prem ki Surdhara declared its monumental presence in front of the world not by blowing clarion, but by securing recognition at 8th Haryana International Film Festival 2026. Prem ki Surdhara in Japan, OTT, and the World
Presently Prem ki Surdhara is being screened only in film festivals to be reviewed, discerned and criticised by critics, curators, and absolute cinema lovers. But soon the movie will be launched on OTT platforms so that everyone can watch and enjoy this beautiful depiction of the merging of two ancient cultures.
The surprise doesn’t end here. In June, 2026, the movie will also be screened in Japan, hosted by the Government of Japan. This will be yet another milestone in the journey of this extraordinary film and also in the recognition of efforts of India Book of Records to deliver global recognition in Indian Cinema in 2026.
‘Prem Ki Surdhara’ - unfolding a new chapter
To conclude, we would like to say that this is a new chapter in the history of India Book of Records. We have religiously listed the records of all Indians. This time we made an attempt to set a record for ourselves. A record for creating lifelong ties with our neighbouring countries and that of our brethren. This movie, which depicts the thousand-year-old heritage of India and Vietnam, proves that when organisations dream to dare beyond their limitations, they too can achieve the unimaginable.
We hope you all will also cherish the movie and shower it with your love and blessings.
