The record for making the largest embroidered picture depicting a scene from Mahabharata was set by Venugopalan Mambully (born on April 22, 1974) of Thrissur, Kerala. He embroidered a picture (measuring 141 cm x 96.5 cm) of Arjun and Krishna (Geetopadesha) using strands of colourful embroidery thread and a sewing machine for embroidery work, as confirmed on July 26, 2021.
