India Book of Records' Award-Winning Film Was Unveiled on WAVES OTT
A memorable cultural evening was hosted at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi, where the film Vườn Tình Yêu – Prem Ki Surdhara was officially launched on Waves OTT, a project proudly produced by India Book of Records (IBR). The event was organised as a tribute to the centuries-old bond shared between India and Vietnam, and it was attended by eminent dignitaries, cultural ambassadors, and record-holders from both nations.
A significant new milestone was achieved by India Book of Records with the official launch of Vườn Tình Yêu – Prem Ki Surdhara, an international film conceptualised by a Vietnamese folk artist, Prof. Dr. Chu Bảo Quế, and produced by India Book of Records. The film was made available to viewers across the globe on WAVES OTT, the streaming platform of Prasar Bharati, Government of India, and through it, the shared cultural heritage, artistic traditions, and enduring friendship between India and Vietnam were celebrated.
A Celebration Rooted in a Thousand-Year-Old Bond
The official launch ceremony was held on Friday, 24 July 2026, at Le Meridien Hotel, New Delhi. Distinguished guests from India and Vietnam were brought together for the occasion, and the gathering included ministers, diplomats, cultural personalities, filmmakers, actors, and media professionals.
Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs of Madhya Pradesh, was welcomed as Chief Guest, while Shri Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of WAVES OTT, was honoured as the Guest of Honour. Several senior officials from Prasar Bharati and WAVES OTT were also seen in attendance, including Shri Rajeev Roy, Member (Finance); Shri Rajeev Bhardwaj, Member (Personnel); Shri Yogesh Baweja, Director General, All India Radio and Doordarshan; Shri Vikram Singh Malik, In-charge, OTT; Shri Aditya Chaturvedi, Head, OTT; Shri Devesh Kumar, Deputy Director General; and Shri Amit Tandon, Deputy Director General.
Advisors to India Book of Records were also present to grace the ceremony – Justice B. G. Kolse Patil, former Judge of the Bombay High Court; and Dr. R. R. Fuliya, IAS (Retd.), former Chief Secretary of Haryana. Senior officials from the Embassy of Vietnam were welcomed as well, further reflecting the diplomatic significance attached to the evening.
Vietnamese Delegation Joined the Celebration
A delegation from Vietnam was warmly welcomed at the launch, led by Prof. Dr. Chu Bảo Quế, the film’s lead actor and creative visionary, who conceptualised the entire movie. Dr Nguyen Hoang Anh (Julia), General Secretary of the World Records Union (WorldKings) and Permanent Vice-Chairwoman of the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings), was also present, underscoring the strong institutional ties that have been built between India Book of Records and its Vietnamese counterparts over the years.
The delegation was further represented by Ms. Chu Thuy Hang, Head of the Vietnam UNESCO Folk Arts Troupe, and Ms. Nguyen Thu Trang, Deputy Head of the Troupe, both of whom had travelled to New Delhi for this landmark occasion
A Celebration Rooted in a thousand year old bond
The evening was opened with remarks in which the deep, historical relationship between India and Vietnam was highlighted, a relationship that can be traced back more than 1,000 years. Reference was made to the ancient Cham civilisation of central Vietnam, where Indian traditions, including Hinduism, Sanskrit, art, and architecture, were warmly embraced. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of My Son Sanctuary, dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva, was cited as an enduring symbol of this shared heritage.
How the Evening Unfolded
Then the evening progressed with the lighting of the traditional lamp, as melodious tunes of Saraswati Vandana filled the environment. After which the National Anthems of India and Vietnam were sung by India Book of Records holder Jyash Tholia – a gesture through which the spirit of unity between the two nations was set for the rest of the evening.
Moving forward, all the esteemed guests were extended a formal welcome by Dr Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury (Chief Editor) and Neerja Roy Chowdhury (Managing Editor) by presenting them with shawls, the latest edition of the yearly book of India Book of Records, and saplings.

Once the felicitations were done, a joint Indo-Vietnam cultural dance was performed by Vietnamese dancer Chu Thuy Hang, alongside Indian school girls, creating a beautiful kaleidoscopic view on the stage, symbolising the artistic unity between the two cultures.
After this mesmerising performance, a welcome address was delivered by Shri Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of WAVES OTT. He then, along with Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, presented the Certificate of Appreciation to Prof. Dr. Chu Bảo Quế in recognition of his contribution to strengthening Indo-Vietnam cultural cooperation. He, in return, gifted them a special Vietnamese artwork symbolising cultural union between both the nations.
The Unveiling of the Movie Trailer
Then came the moment everyone was waiting for with bated breath– screening of the trailer of Vườn Tình Yêu – Prem Ki Surdhara. The duration of the trailer was 3 minutes and 35 seconds, and everyone in the audience was enraptured by the beautiful visuals in front of them. A wave of loud applause was heard at the end of the trailer, expressing the interest of the people in the cross-cultural musical serenade produced by IBR. It was a moment of immense pride.
Subsequently, an address was delivered by Mrs. Neerja Roy Chowdhury. She stated that the film not only promotes the Indo-Vietnam Cultural Heritage initiative but also provides a meaningful platform for talented India Book of Records holders to showcase their abilities in creative fields such as music, acting, direction, and scriptwriting.
She further added that such initiatives would continue under the Indo-Vietnam Cultural Heritage Exchange Programme to further strengthen cultural and knowledge exchange between the two countries. It was also shared by her that more collaborative projects with WAVES OTT are being hoped for, including a proposed weekly India Book of Records series.
Launch of Vườn Tình Yêu on WAVES OTT
Adopting the most unique way, the film was formally launched through a ceremonial Umbrella Activity. The never-before-seen activity was performed by the distinguished guests of the evening, which included Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Prof. Dr. Chu Bảo Quế, dignitaries from Waves OTT, Justice B. G. Kolse Patil, and others.
Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya spoke a few words of wisdom regarding the cultural heritage of India and Vietnam after the launch activity, sharing his enriching thoughts with the audience. It was followed by an address by Prof. Dr. Chu Bảo Quế, wherein he expressed his delightful journey of being part of the creative project, which has cemented the 1,000-year-old amity between both nations.
His thoughtful speech was followed by a surreal Vietnamese musical performance that was presented by Nguyen Thu Trang, with live background music, adding a soulful close to the cultural segment of the evening.
The proceedings were concluded with a press conference, in which Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, Prof. Dr. Chu Bảo Quế, and the CEO of Waves OTT participated, followed by a formal vote of thanks and an invitation extended to all guests for dinner.
Why This Occasion Was Significant for India Book of Records
This event was regarded as a milestone moment in the growing international footprint of India Book of Records. As the keeper of India’s records for more than two decades, IBR has long been dedicated to recognising extraordinary human achievement — publishing its annual book and monthly magazines in English and Hindi, and reaching millions of viewers through three weekly television shows, with close to 10,000 new record holders being added to its archives every year.
Through this collaboration, IBR’s association with global cultural and records bodies was further reinforced, particularly through the presence of representatives from the World Records Union (WorldKings) and the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) — organisations with which IBR has built long-standing international ties. The event was also seen as an extension of IBR’s broader mission of fostering cross-border recognition and cultural exchange, a mission that is already reflected in initiatives such as its annual honouring of Indian record holders in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and the induction of top record holders into the World Records Museum in Jakarta, Indonesia.
By producing Vườn Tình Yêu – Prem Ki Surdhara and its release on Waves OTT, India Book of Records was able to step beyond its traditional role as a records-documentation body and establish itself as an active contributor to Indo-Vietnam cultural diplomacy — supporting national efforts to preserve, digitise, and celebrate a heritage that has connected the two countries for over a thousand years. This initiative was seen as reaffirming IBR’s position not merely as a record-keeper, but as a platform that champions talent, culture, and international collaboration on a global stage.
