India Book of Records has a new milestone to celebrate. Its film, Vườn Tình Yêu – Prem Ki Surdhara, is now live on WAVES OTT. WAVES OTT is the streaming platform of Prasar Bharati, Government of India. The film is available to viewers across the globe.
The film was conceptualised by Vietnamese folk artist Prof. Dr. Chu Bảo Quế. It was produced by India Book of Records. Together, they have created a story that celebrates the shared cultural heritage of India and Vietnam. It honours the artistic traditions and enduring friendship between the two nations.
A Star-Studded Launch in New Delhi
The official launch ceremony took place on Friday, 24 July 2026. The venue was Le Meridien Hotel, New Delhi. Distinguished guests from India and Vietnam attended the event. The list included ministers, diplomats, cultural personalities, filmmakers, actors, and media professionals.
Mr. Kailash Vijayvargiya, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs of Madhya Pradesh, was the Chief Guest. Shri Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of Prasar Bharati, was the Guest of Honour.
Senior officials from Prasar Bharati and WAVES OTT were also in attendance. These included Shri Aditya Chaturvedi, Head, OTT, and Shri Devesh Kumar, Deputy Director General.
Two advisers to India Book of Records graced the occasion. Justice B. G. Kolse Patil, former Judge of the Bombay High Court, attended. So did Dr. R. R. Fuliya, IAS (Retd.), former Chief Secretary of Haryana.
The guests commenced the event by lighting the traditional lamp while Saraswati Vandana was being played in the background. Post which, the national anthems of both the nations were sung by an India Book of Records holder, Jyash Tholia.
Vietnam's Delegation Joins the Celebration
A delegation from Vietnam travelled for the launch. Prof. Dr. Chu Bảo Quế attended as the film’s lead actor and creative visionary. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh (Julia) also attended. She is General Secretary of the World Records Union (WorldKings). She also serves as Permanent Vice-Chairwoman of the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings).
Ms. Chu Thuy Hang, Head of the Vietnam UNESCO Folk Arts Troupe, was present. So was Ms. Nguyen Thu Trang, the troupe’s Deputy Head.
Senior officials from the Embassy of Vietnam also attended. Ms. Song Ha and Ms. Tra Dao represented the embassy. Senior Colonel Ngoc Dai, Defence Attaché of Vietnam, came with his wife.
Ahead of the launch, the Vietnamese delegation trained Indian schoolchildren in Vietnamese dance forms. This cultural exchange helped preserve and promote Vietnam’s rich traditions.
A Ceremony Filled with Culture and Performance
The event marked the official unveiling of the film. It was a milestone in the growing cultural partnership between India and Vietnam. Indian schoolchildren and Vietnamese artist Chu Thuy Hang lit up the stage with a vibrant performance. And Vietnamese singer Nguyen Thu Trang added melody to the celebration.
Record Holders Share the Screen with Bollywood Stars
Mrs. Neerja Roy Chowdhury, Managing Editor of India Book of Records, spoke at the event. She said the film promotes the Indo-Vietnam Cultural Heritage initiative. She added that it gives India Book of Records holders a platform. They get to showcase their talent in music, acting, direction, and scriptwriting.
She shared her thoughts on the film’s cast. Audiences will see record holders sharing the screen with Bollywood artists. These include Sanchita Kulkarni, Kishori Shahane, and Gopi Krishnan Varma. The record holders proved their skills on an international stage during filming.
She explained the film’s larger purpose. It presents the cultures of India and Vietnam side by side. It highlights the similarities between the two nations. It showcases the centuries-old bond shared by these civilisations.
She also spoke about future plans. India Book of Records will continue such initiatives under the Indo-Vietnam Cultural Heritage Exchange Programme. The organisation hopes to expand its work with WAVES OTT. A weekly India Book of Records series is among the ideas being explored.
A Growing Cultural Exchange Journey
Prof. Dr. Chu Bảo Quế serves as brand ambassador of the Indo-Vietnam Cultural Heritage Programme. For several years, he has promoted the shared heritage of India and Vietnam. This film adds another chapter to that journey.
The initiative has produced other work too. The book Guardian of Heritage was released earlier as part of it. Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury authored the book in English and Vietnamese. It highlights the historical and cultural connections between the two nations.
An Award-Winning Film
Vườn Tình Yêu – Prem Ki Surdhara has already earned recognition. It won the Best International Film Award at the 8th Haryana International Film Festival. The festival was held at Kurukshetra University on 25 March 2026.
This award reflects the film’s artistic excellence. It also highlights its role in cultural diplomacy through cinema. The film strengthens the emotional and historical connection between India and Vietnam.
Behind the Story
Biswadeep Roy Chowdhury directed the film. Vimal Mishra served as Director of Photography. Together, they crafted a story of cultural exchange, harmony, and mutual respect.
The film follows an Indian girl’s journey. She travels from a village in Madhya Pradesh to the musical stages of Hanoi, Vietnam. Through music, art, and storytelling, the film builds a cultural bridge. It celebrates the shared values and enduring friendship of two ancient civilisations.
