First Medical Family Completed the Ironman Triathlon
The record for being the first medical family to complete the Ironman Triathlon together was set by Dr. Sampat Dumbre Patil, along with his wife, daughter and son, of Pune, Maharashtra. He and his family completed the Ironman 70.3, including a 1.9 km open water swim, a 90 km cycle ride and a 21.1 km run held at Italy Emilia Romagna on September 22, 2024. The family has a medical background as he is an Orthopaedic Surgeon and his wife is a Radiologist, while his daughter and his son are MBBS students, as confirmed on February 1, 2025
