The record for being the fastest to recite Melakarta ragas was set by Meerra Gokulnath (born on May 14, 2017) of Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. Melakarta is a collection of fundamental musical ragas in Carnatic music (South Indian classical music). These ragas are parent ragas (hence known as janaka ragas) from which other ragas have been generated.
