Largest Collection of Antiques Curated Singlehandedly: Dr. D Veerendra Heggade’s Iron Will and Dedication

Sculptures, scriptures, artifacts, spoils of war, gold, silver and even onyx, have all been preserved over time in the underbellies of civilisations wanting to preserve their culture and inheritance with the hope to maintain their continuity through the ever changing generations. Human kind has an ingrained urge to be remembered by those who are to come after, and this sense of recognition is what has driven great collectors like Lorenzo de’ Medici and Napoleon Bonaparte to amass extensive collections of antiquities, spreading the awareness of the past to all future generations. Procuring antiquities is just the first step of becoming a collector, the true hard work lies in the efficiency of preservation, the accuracy of refurbishing, and the dedication involved in keeping them in pristine condition.
