The record for swimming across Vembanad Lake was set by Neeraj Sreekanth (born on May 31, 2016) of Ernakulam, Kerala. He swam 4 km across Vembanad Lake starting from Thavanakadavu Charthala of Alappuzha district to Vaikom market of Kottayam district from 8.48 am to 10.46 am at the age of 6 years, 1 month and 14 days, as confirmed on July 14, 2022.
