The record for the longest elephant caparison created by a team was set by Christ College of Engineering (Autonomous) Irinjalakuda, Kerala. A caparison is a golden head covering placed on elephants during temple festivals in Kerala. The college team created the longest elephant caparison, measuring 16.9 feet in length and 3.2 feet in width, using a resin sheet, red velvet cloth, small golden balls, plywood, woollen and cotton threads. The record was confirmed on August 8, 2026.
