The record for the Maximum NCC Cadets Selected for the Armed Forces from a Single Battalion was set by 5 (Tamil Nadu) Battalion NCC, Tirunelveli. In December 2025, 44 NCC cadets were selected as Agniveers in the Indian Armed Forces during a single recruitment cycle. This became the first such achievement in India by a single NCC Battalion. The milestone was accomplished under the guidance of Commanding Officer Lt Col K. Karthikesh Kasinath, as confirmed on June 23, 2026.
