Highest Altitude Construction of Monorail System by the Indian Army
The record for the highest altitude construction of a monorail system by the Indian Army was set by 10 Engineer Regiment at Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. On October 6, 2025, 1 Officer, 1 Junior Commissioned Officer, and 15 Other Ranks commenced construction at 16,000 ft. The project was completed on November 6, 2025. The monorail enables round-the-clock movement of unwieldy loads, reliable supply of stores and rapid casualty evacuation to remote places, showcasing Atmanirbharta, as confirmed on March 27, 2026.
