The record for the longest duration hot air balloon flight in India was set by Lt Col Ashutosh Kumar and Sub Uma Nand Singh of Army Adventure Nodal Centre (Hot Air Ballooning), 3 EME Centre, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. On December 5, 2025, they took off from Dhule, Maharashtra, and flew continuously for 8 hours 44 minutes before finally landing near Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), Maharashtra. The event aimed to inspire young citizens toward aviation-related activities, demonstrate advanced ballooning skills, and promote the spirit of adventure sports in India, as confirmed on December 10, 2025.
