The record for the maximum haemoglobin screening to raise anaemia awareness among young women was set by the NSS Unit – Auxilium College (Autonomous), Vellore, in collaboration with Naruvi Hospital, Vellore. They conducted a mass haemoglobin screening for 3,434 students and 242 staff in a time frame of 2 hours and 40 minutes to highlight anaemia, a serious health concern for young Indian women. This initiative was undertaken to celebrate 50 years of dedicated NSS service to community development and youth engagement, aiming to promote preventive healthcare and empower women, as confirmed on October 10, 2025.
