The record for the longest in situ box girder concrete bridge across the River Subarnarekha was set by L&T GeoStructure Private Limited, Chennai. This 62m in-situ PSC box girder is India’s first and is post-tensioned with 14 cables, each containing 22 HT Strands. Weighing 1,100 MT, it was supported by heavy-duty scaffolding towers. The project includes one major (993.12m) and five minor bridges, along with embankment approaches in Baliapal and Bhograi Blocks, Balasore District, Odisha. The milestone was achieved with the first box girder cast in May 2024, as confirmed on August 26, 2024.
