One Game; Million Emotions: Historical Record Registered @ IBR in Cricket
Before 1983, the Indian Cricket team had never even dreamt of being able to hold the precious World Cup trophy. It was all because of that one ‘Mad Captain’s’ zeal and ambition that the Indian team was able to achieve the extraordinary feat of winning against the revered team of New Zealand. Had Mr. Kapil Dev not had the belief and aspiration to go back home with the trophy in his hand, there wouldn’t have been a possibility of seeing cricket become the marvel that it is today in our country. It all happened due to one man’s dream that led to the onset of a new era of cricket for the entirety of this nation. Today, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) is the world’s richest cricket board, having made millions of dreams come true through their various tournaments and matches, bringing out more and more talented players of this country into the limelight. This is exactly what we at India Book of Records believe in doing, and for the past two decades, we have worked hard to bring recognition to new talent and extraordinaire. And so, because of our unified beliefs, keeping up with the spirit of appreciating glory, the Union Territory Cricket Association (affiliated with BCCI), in collaboration with Chandigarh Police, has made an iconic record with India Book of Records under the title- ‘Maximum Teams Participated in a T10 Gully Cricket Tournament’ on August 11, 2024.
What was the record about?
A whopping number of 302 cricket teams joined for this T10 Gully Cricket tournament, out of which, 256 teams were of male cricket players and 46 teams were of female cricket players, all varying in diverse age ranges. This tournament began on July 26, 2024 and proceeded up till August 11, 2024, marking that date as one for the history books. From the beginning of this tournament till the last date, India Book of Records was adjudicating the entire event.

Our respectable adjudicator, Acharya Manish held a felicitation ceremony after the completion of this record and it was his scrutiny and unbiassed adjudication that led to this extraordinary record becoming possible. Acharya Manish has been a part of India Book of Records as a respectable adjudicator since many years, and time and time again, he has proven his method of extreme scrutiny and verification just and impartial towards our applicants so that India Book of Records can continue to create historical milestone for people to be inspired by. Like all other events, this too was monitored closely and only after extensive verification, did our adjudicator Acharya Manish declare it a successful record created.

The felicitation ceremony was heartfelt and full of shared joy and it was truly a wondrous sight to behold as the applied record became a glorious reality.
