The record for non-stop swimming across Palk Strait by an autistic teen was set by Haresh Barath Mohan (born on July 15, 2007) of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He being an autistic child swam 14.4 nautical miles in 11 hours, 52 minutes and 20 seconds in the open sea from Thalaimanar (Srilanka) to Dhanush Kodi, Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu at the age of 16 years, 2 months and 22 days, as confirmed on October 7, 2023.
