Pratibha Patil (born on December 19, 1934) of Nadgaon, Maharashtra, is the 12th President of the Republic of India and first woman to hold the office. She was sworn in as President of India on July 25, 2007, succeeding Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC).
