‘Maa’ is a Tamil film in which differently abled people have played important roles and performed key technical functions. It is directed by Fathima Beevi, who is a wheel chaired lady. Dr. TMN Deepak, vice-president of the Tamil Nadu Handicapped Federation plys the hero and polio-affected Amudha Rajini is the choreographer of the film. S. R Rao, who has lost a leg, is the cinematographer and visually impaired G. Karthik does the musical score. This important film is produced by Madan Gabriel and he feels proud of doing the job. The film has an important message about public participation and recognition of disabled individual in every department of society as well as the government.
