First Air Bike

Shubham Tiwari, along with a group of engineering students successfully built a pollution-free motorbike designed to run on air pressure rather than petrol. The working principle of the vehicle is the utilization of energy of air, when it is stored at high pressure. The bike consist of two air cylinders, which are used to store air at high pressure. When pressurized air (350 psi) is made to fall on a fan with proper passage, it rotates the fan at a high speed. This rotation of fan is then transmitted to the rear wheel through proper transmission system, which on the other hand runs the vehicle. The cost of this bike is Rs 22000/- with an economy of 950 mts/refill.
