Acoustic Traditional in Darjeeling (West Bengal), organized a campaign titled ‘Big Foot’, in which a total of 105 students and 12 adults wore specially-made ‘Yeti’ shoes and walked on them, on May 25, 2012, with an aim to raise awareness on the disappearing oral folklore and the need to preserve the dying tribal/ indigenous oral history around the country. on to the foundation of the Big Foot Day. The participants had paid for the shoes and the funds raised were used for the event.
