‘Gulabi Gang’ formed by Sampat Pal Devi (born on October 25, 1962) in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, is a gang of ladies which punishes husbands, fathers and brothers causing domestic violence towards ladies. Formed in the year 2006, the members wields bamboo sticks wearing pink saris and aims to eradicate domestic violence and train the women to enhance their basic skills to become economically secure through sustainable livelihood options.
