At India Book of Records, there are all kinds of records. From bungee jumping from the highest heights to performing the lowest limbo-skating, we have documented all kinds of phenomenal records. One such category, our personal favourite, is the longest human achievement records. The word ‘longest’ itself is a deceptively simple word. It can mean the longest distance covered on two wheels, or the longest number of seconds a person can hold their breath underwater. It can be measured in centimetres of hair, metres of canvas, or hours spent doing something the rest of us would give up on in minutes. At the India Book of Records, “longest” has taken more shapes than almost any other category– and that variety is exactly what makes it worth celebrating.
We have listed our top 7 Longest Records for you. Read on and be surprised by what people are achieving by simply chasing the title of Longest Records.
Breaking Barriers on Two Wheels
Many of us like riding a scooter. It is such an easy-to-ride vehicle that every other person in the country knows how to ride it. Using this very vehicle, Mohit Gupta (born on October 30, 1995) of Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, set his own longest record.

He set a phenomenal record for riding a scooter nonstop for the longest duration. He rode a non-modified Activa scooter non-stop for 49 minutes and 27 seconds (as per GPS), covering a distance of 22.44 km, despite being 60% specially abled (locomotor disability) with right-hand limb deficiency, as confirmed on May 20, 2026.
Record-worthy underwater submersion
We have numerous records of swimming in water and in open seas. What makes this record special is the fact that no large water body was needed to set this longest human achievement record.
Mukeesh Gupta of Howrah, West Bengal, set a mind-blowing record of sitting underwater for the longest duration in an aquarium by an individual.

He remained seated underwater inside an aquarium continuously for 30 hours, from 12:50 p.m. on July 3, 2026, to 6:50 p.m. on July 4, 2026. He demonstrated exceptional endurance, physical stamina, and mental resilience through his remarkable achievement, while remaining immersed in an aquatic environment for an extended period. This record was confirmed on July 4, 2026.
Record-Setting Strong Core Muscles
Some records demand not only endurance but extraordinary physical strength.

Simanchal Barik (born on June 20, 1982) of Ganjam, Odisha, achieved the peak level of physical strength. Using his physical strength, he decided to set a mind-blowing longest duration talent record. He performed a double auto stunt in the handstand pose, pulling the autos using his abdomen, for 19 seconds by pulling two auto rickshaws (Bajaj BS3 model, total weight: 1626 kg) with a rope tied to his chest.
This way, he set a record for performing a double auto stunt in a headstand pose for the longest duration, as confirmed on March 11, 2026.
