The grand occasion welcomed numerous record holders from neighbouring countries, reflecting the spirit of cross-border collaboration and shared excellence. Representing India at this prestigious ceremony was Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, Chief Editor of the India Book of Records (IBR) and Chairman of the World Records Union (WRU). He led a distinguished Indian delegation that included renowned figures from the HIIMS Hospital System – Acharya Manish Grover, Vikram, Manish, and Ravi – as well as Asia Book of Records (ABR) holders Dr. K. Bhavani Rao and Dr. Jayasree Venugopal, accompanied by Y V S Prakasha Rao and Vijith Venugopalan. Their presence added depth and diversity to the celebration, reinforcing the global reach and impact of the record-holding community.
The ceremony began at 8:00 AM with a dazzling cultural showcase, featuring the Quang Hien Lion Dance Troupe and performances by the UNESCO Vietnam Folk Art Troupe. Songs like “Forever Remembering,” “Sparkling,” and “Hello Vietnam” set a tone of pride and unity. A solemn flag-saluting ceremony and memorial tribute honoured the late members of the Council of Record Establishment and the record-holder community.
A key milestone of the event was the launch of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Record Establishment Council – a specialised body central to VietKings’ operations. This committee will guide the appraisal and recognition of records using transparent, scientific criteria. The ceremony also included the signing of strategic cooperation agreements between VietKings and its partners, reinforcing a commitment to sustainable development within the record-holder community.
One of the most anticipated moments was the announcement of the Grand Records – Essence of Records Award, initiated by the World Record Union (WorldKings) and officially authorised for implementation in Vietnam by VietKings. This prestigious award honours individuals and organisations whose records reflect profound influence, creativity, and contributions to humanity.
Eleven recipients from Vietnam and India were honoured with the inaugural Grand Records awards. Additionally, two individuals received the Golden Disc of Dedication from WorldKings, recognising their enduring contributions to the record-holder and broader social communities. The Reunion also celebrated the awarding of 3 World Records, 1 Asian Record, 4 Global Vietnamese Records, and 14 Vietnam Records.
As the event drew to a close, Associate Professor Dr. Le Hanh led the hall in a stirring rendition of “Melody of the Fatherland,” a performance that resonated deeply with the spirit of national pride. The Organizing Committee then extended heartfelt gratitude to sponsors whose support made the event a resounding success.
The 54th Vietnam Record Holders Reunion concluded with new records set, strategic partnerships forged, and a renewed commitment to excellence. It was not only a celebration of achievements but also a powerful promise for future reunions – where the record-holder community will continue to inspire, innovate, and shine on the world stage.
